Franklin Delano Roosevelt D’Alesandro, better known as “Roosie,” was born on March 7, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the second son of Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., and Anunciata D’Alesandro. His father was a well-known politician in Baltimore having served as the mayor and also as a U.S. Congressman.
